It's no secret, I am a lover of all things water and that includes waterfalls. Imagine my amazement when we visited the world's tallest indoor waterfall located in Singapore at the Gardens By The Bay - Cloud Forest. Meant to simulate the appearance of a tropical rainforest this exhibit is exquisite. The moment you step inside you are surrounded by an abundance of expertly cared for rare plants, innovative artworks and a mist-filled treetop walk.
The waterfall spans 35 meters, which is about 10 1/2 stories tall that also equates to about 115 feet in height. Located at the Gardens By The Bay this incredible waterfall, cloud and plant exhibit is also home to the world's largest glass greenhouse.
Plant life is meant to absorb the mist and thrive in this setting, thereby mimicking an actual, moist, tropical, thriving rainforest. The rare and beautiful plants are found up to 2,000 meters above sea level and an actual mist is pumped into the forest.
The dome is made using 2,577 glass panels of 690 shapes and sizes needing to cover the cloud forest, which is the size of 60 Olympic swimming pools.
We opted to visit at night when the exhibit was less crowded. It was breathtakingly gorgeous and a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend visiting this lovely place and take lots of pictures and videos to reminisce.
Additionally, there was a lot of earth friendly art, installations about sustainability and even stalagmites and other crystalline and gemstones to observe.
