My Point of Heu |
1/19/2016 Oh Scratch, how I love thee!Nestled in the heart of Chinatown are a few of my favorite eateries. I must say that if you took me to lunch or dinner at Kan Zaman, Little Village, JJ Dolans, Lucky Belly, Livestock Tavern or Pig & The Lady I would be a very happy camper. Add this gem of a brunch spot called Scratch and I kinda wished I lived walking distance away. Scratch Kitchen & Bakeshop is a southern-inspired restaurant that recently started serving dinner. I haven't been for dinner yet because I love the breakfast items too much. But I am sure I will make my way there eventually. The food is really good, but don't go in thinking that you'll have a light bite to eat. The flavors are all very complex, the food is rich and often you can take home leftovers for a late lunch or even dinner later. Some of my favorites include the french toast, milk & cereal pancakes and the benedict. The menu changes seasonally but you can always find something tasty, sweet or savory and delicious here. And if you love bacon get a side of bacon too. Here's a look at some of the winter menu offerings.
