Don't do this at a potluck

Picture

Ah things are pretty much back to normal, people are gathering, having parties and potlucks are prevalent again.
Here's a list of don'ts when it comes to putting together, participating in and arriving at your summer potluck occasion... crafted by yours truly. HA!

Don't do this...

  1. Once the invite is sent, don't reply a week later, or the night before. Be sure to reply in a timely manner and if you are bringing something say what you are planning to bring. It really isn't helpful to rsvp the night before and bring something useless or already covered.
  2. Don't invite other people the host doesn't know without asking.
  3. Don't keep calling the day before or the night before to discuss what you may or may not be bringing or that you may or may not be late.
  4. Don't show up, but all of your food is not prepped, cut or ready to be served.
  5. Don't bring chips and chips alone.
  6. Don't sign-up to bring the utensils or napkins unless asked.
  7. Don't show up but leave all the ingredients in the car.
  8. Don't ask the host where everything is so you can prep your dish when the party is in full swing.
  9. Don't leave your dirty shoes or slippers on the stairs or door entry so everything else gets dirty.
  10. Don't keep taking a plate and then throwing it away only to take another plate over and over again.
  11. Don't bury your nose in your phone the entire time.
  12. Don't keep asking where the host got things and how much it cost.
  13. Don't keep saying you're thirsty but you left your water bottle outside.
  14. Don't lay down on the couch like you own the house.
  15. If you choose to reheat something in the microwave ask and look for a cover so it doesn't platter all over the place.
  16. Don't forget, this is not your house you are a guest.
  17. Don't allow your children to open, dig through, play with and interrupt the night.
  18. Everyone should be on their best behavior.
