Starting April 4, Bread + Butter launches a brand new Happier Hour served weekdays 2pm-6pm. The tapas-style restaurant will showcases tasty dishes at really affordable prices $2.50-$7 and beverages $4 and $5.
A small group of us foodies got to try the new menu items and some of the classic dishes. The array of bites from oysters to lamb chops, truffle edamame and charcuterie are the perfect accompaniment to a little banter with friends and time spent relaxing and enjoying the relaxed wine-bar atmosphere.
Some of the highlights include: Dates & Blue Cheese - caramelized dates, stuffed with a blue cheese mousse, served with candied walnuts and a balsamic vinegar reductions. This is sweet, savory and just the slightest bit of tartness. Love the flavor profiles of this fun finger food. Truffle Edamame: edamame steamed to perfection topped with truffle oil and delicately sprinkled with black truffle. Edamame is a classic starter often replacing bread at the dinner table nowadays. This interpretation is innovative and blends decadent with simple. I love the earthiness of the truffle with the simplicity of the edamame. Mushroom Ajillo - shimeji, button, oyster mushrooms served with a light and comforting ajillo sauce, prosciutto and housemade focaccia bread. The mushrooms are meaty, perfectly cooked and I loved dipping the amazing chewy yet crispy bread in the sauce. Cheese Meats Focaccia - chef's choice of 1 cheese and 1 meat served with housemade focaccia. Like a box of chocolates you dont know what you are going to get the prosciutto is fabulous, the pipikaula is so very tasty and the array of cheeses are creamy, salty and delicious. Pair this with wine and you are all set for the perfect combination of delectable bites.
Beverages include: $4 Maui Brewing Bikini Blonde, $5 Red Wine, White Wine, Red Sangria, Champagne or Mimosa. (Manager's Pick).
